Goa Rang Reng Waterfall
Goa Rang Reng Waterfall
A sacred site featuring a wide, sloping waterfall and a small cave shrine. Ropes assist in exploring this adventurous spot.
True to its name, the 'sliding waterfall,' this spot features a unique landscape where a thin film of water flows over a wide, fanned-out rock face. A small cave ('goa') upstream serves as a local holy site where offerings are made. Ropes have been installed to help visitors carefully navigate the terrain. In the dry season, the water is clearer, revealing the patterns on the rock face. The surrounding forest is rich with birds and butterflies, and the valley breeze is refreshing. Unlike more commercialized waterfalls, this one retains a rustic, natural charm, and its beauty depends on the respectful etiquette of its visitors.
Culture and Prayer
The shrines and offerings are evidence of local faith. If you see people praying, keep a respectful distance and observe quietly.
What to Wear
Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and shoes with good grip. If the water level is high, be prepared to turn back after viewing the falls from the upper area.
